Samantha Cliborne, M.Ed., BCBA

Co-Founder & Clinic Director
As the owner of Behavior Matters Consulting SC and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Samantha Cliborne is dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment for her clients, where children can discover new avenues for reinforcement and learn to advocate for themselves. She also prioritizes providing a fun and productive working environment for her therapists, ensuring that both their needs and the clients’ needs are met with care and consideration.

Samantha’s journey began as an Army veteran, where she developed a strong sense of discipline and service. After her military service, she earned her master’s degree in counseling from The Citadel Graduate College. Driven by a passion for helping others, she furthered her education at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she became certified as a Behavior Analyst, passing her board exam in 2021.

With a rich background in both in-home and in-clinic settings since 2017, Samantha’s work as a behavior analyst focuses on enhancing communication skills and maximizing parent education. She firmly believes that shaping behaviors requires a collective effort—knowledge should be shared widely, with everyone in the community playing a role in the process.

Sara Duggan

Co-Founder and CFO
With two decades of experience in business ownership and the real estate industry, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for driving transformative change. Having navigated both corporate environments and entrepreneurial ventures, Sara thrives on leveraging her multi-faceted expertise to see the big picture within companies and real estate ventures alike. As a self-described multi-passionate generalist, she is adept at identifying opportunities for growth and innovation. Sara is driven by a deep appreciation for people and the power of collaboration, seeking to forge meaningful connections and drive collective success in every endeavor.

Alexis Page M.S., CCC-SLP

Alexis Page, an ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist, graduated with honors from Adelphi University in 2009 with her Masters of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She completed her undergraduate degree with honors from Iona University in 2007 with a minor in Spanish. Alexis is an active SLP at Behavior Matters Consulting SC providing services in English and Spanish. She is PROMPT level 1 trained and certified in The Listening Program. Alexis is a past presenter at the 2018 ASHA national conference. She is licensed in New York and South Carolina. Alexis continues to serve the Early Intervention population via telehealth. Alexis values fairness and equal access to all environments.

Ali Atchison M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist
. Ali began her career working with preschool and school age children in the Leon County School District of Florida. She had the opportunity to provide speech language therapy intervention for children with Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, unspecified learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with a focus on establishing functional communication skills for all students. Ali relocated to southern California and joined a therapy center that emphasized holistic treatment for children with ASD and other developmental disabilities through co-treatment, intensive one-on-one therapy, and social groups. Here she furthered her knowledge and experience in the areas of Sensory Processing Disorders, Augmentative Alternative Communication and Childhood Apraxia of Speech through handson experience and educational coursework including but not limited to DIR Floortime, LIFT and PROMPT. Ali has a special interest in working with children in the birth to three population and went on to work in Ventura County California treating young children in their natural environment with an emphasis on early language acquisition and family support.

Ali and her family moved to the greater Charleston area in 2020. She enjoys spending time outdoors biking, camping, hiking, and days at the beach with her two amazing children. She loves Charleston’s proximity to the ocean and feels blessed to call it home. Ali is passionate about building and nurturing relationships with her family, friends, and community and strives to be constantly learning, growing and giving back.

Abby McCown M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist
Abby, originally from southeastern Kentucky, is a dedicated professional in Communication Sciences & Disorders. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 2021 and completing her master’s degree in 2023, Abby relocated to the Charleston area in August 2023 to advance her career. She is passionate about working with children and providing services as a speech-language pathologist. Outside of her professional life, she finds joy in spending weekends at the beach, enjoying lake outings with her family, trying new restaurants in the area, and playing with her dog, Cobie.

Nia Williams, RBT

Registered Behavioral Technician
Nia Williams is a BCBA Candidate born and raised in Norfolk, VA who relocated to the Charleston area from Raleigh, NC in June of 2023. She graduated from Hollins University in 2018 with her Bachelor’s in Psychology, and from Russell Sage College in 2024 with her Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism. She has been working in the field of ABA for 6 years, and has worked with children in clinics in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Nia plans to take the BCBA exam in May of 2025, and is working diligently to help improve the lives of the children she serves. In

Michelle Volpe

Office Administrator
Michelle is the Office Administrator for Behavior Matters Consulting SC. She was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to the Lowcountry in 2007. Michelle is deeply passionate about seeking out resources and advocating for special needs children; her son, Jason, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2011. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on her New England sports teams, cooking and wandering the grocery store aimlessly, reading and snuggling with her three cats.

Lina Otalora

Billing Administrator
Lina Otalora was born in Columbia, South America. She is fluently bilingual in Spanish and English. She is our Billing Specialist with 14 years of experience in the billing department in fields of construction and medical billing. With a proven track record of efficiency and successful billing, she is confident in her ability to contribute to Behavior Matters Consulting SC and make an impact in her new position. In her free time, you can find her cheering on her son on the soccer field, or putting her degree in nutrition and diet to work while creating healthy, satisfying meals for her family.

Cleopatra “CLEO” Cliborne

Office Mascot
